The Living Torso 2016- 2019
The Living Torso 2016- 2019
The Living Torso Project is a series of photographs that focus on drawing and contain the different types of body shapes and sizes in the same posture.
The figures provide both form and content for the matter of gender. The selected body is described as a torso mannequin in the state of decomposition; no arms, legs and head. This means that it is exploring the human body both inner and outer by implementing a fragmented body. Acquiring the specific posture aims to reconstruct a deficient beauty and express an ambiguous boundary as taking a juxtaposition of male/female.

“Future Reference” reflects on the state of contemporary humanity while imagining a possible future. The gas mask serves as a central symbol, offering a post-utopian lens through which to view the world—one where disillusion, destruction, and the void persist.
The work is installed with a specific order of engagement, guiding the audience through a three-step interaction:
1. See the girls
2. Put your eyes into the gas mask mirror and see your reflection
3. Step aside and eliminate yourself from the image and repeat
This sequence invites the viewer to consider their own place within the narrative, blurring the boundary between subject and observer. The mirrored gas mask becomes both shield and mirror, prompting reflection—literally and metaphorically.
